For the past three
years the event has been hosted at Bighorn Country Club in
Palm Desert. Each year Tiger plays with a different group
of world-class golfers in an entertaining team-on-team match
play format. On Monday, July 29 of this year, at THE BATTLE
AT BIGHORN, Tiger and all-time great Jack Nicklaus were pitted
against young Spanish golf prodigy Sergio Garcia and his partner,
the legendary "Super Mex" -Lee Trevino. Woods and
Nicklaus won the match 3-2 with Tiger making 9 birdies on
the 16 holes played.
Tom Martin, vice president of Lennar Communities
and spokesman for HCC Investors, the community developers
of The Bridges at Rancho Santa Fe, said " we are honored
to be able to host this prestigious golf event. We look forward
to being associated with Tiger, and The Battle, and to share
on television, our very special golf course and residential
