Celebration, FL-Celebration Golf Club received a 4-1/2 star rating in the Golf Digest "Best Places to Play" 2004-2005 edition just published. The club was also ranked in the top two courses in Central Florida for overall conditioning and top three facilities for service standards.
The guidebook includes ratings made by about 20,000 Golf Digest readers of more than 3,500 public-access golf courses in the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. The ratings are on a scale of one to five based upon "the overall golf experience, the value for the money, the standard of service at the facility, the overall conditioning of the course, and the normal pace of play."
Pine Barrens at World Woods Golf Club in Brooksville is the only five star course in Florida. Other 4-1/2 star Florida courses include Arnold Palmer's Bay Hill Club & Lodge, the Stadium course at TPC at Sawgrass, TPC Tampa, World Golf Village's Slammer & Squire and the Dye, North and South courses at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie.
"Obviously, we are honored and privileged to be included in such an elite group of outstanding golf facilities," said Celebration Golf Club general manager, Gene Garrote. He added, "The rating did not come as a total surprise. I think it only validates what our customers have been telling us all along."

"To be recognized as one of the top all around golf courses in the country really does require a total team effort. But, I have to say it starts with Larry Snyder, a Certified Golf Course Superintendent, and his crew who consistently maintain the best possible playing conditions year around. When you consider there are some 1,700 golf courses in Florida, that is a remarkable accomplishment."
The course opened in 1996 and was designed by the world-renowned father/son team of Robert Trent Jones and Robert Trent Jones, Jr. The exquisitely crafted par-72 championship layout winds its way through scenic natural wetlands and serves as the centerpiece of the quaint master planned community of Celebration. Five sets of tees, ranging in length from 2,166 yards at the beginner tees to 6,786 yards from the championship tees, provide players at all skill levels with a fun and challenging test of golf. The course's extensive facilities include a beautiful 10,500-square-foot clubhouse with high-end Pro Shop; locker rooms; full service restaurant and private banquet room; a two-sided aquatic driving range; and a unique three-hole course for juniors only.
Each year Celebration Golf Club hosts over 250 organized golf events and has become nationally known for its Red Carpet Tournament Services. Past tournaments have included the Buick Scramble National Championships, the USGA Senior Open and USGA Senior Amateur Qualifiers, the Florida State Public Links Championship and the Florida Amateur Championships. In March 2004, PGA Tour player Robert Gamez hosted his first celebrity Pro-Am tournament at Celebration, which is now the permanent home for the event.
Celebration Golf Club is owned and operated by CS Golf Partners, LLC, which owns or manages six golf courses in Florida and Canada.
