Dear Friends,

It is with great sadness that I must share with you the passing of my friend and colleague, Mrs. Gudren Noonan. Thirty-one years ago she started working with Robert Trent Jones II as my executive assistant and we have all been fortunate to know and work with her.

Gudren passed away on August 30th, 2012. Per her wishes, she did not want anything announced until after her husband, Dr. Bob, had some time to mourn her passing privately. As you all know, Gudren was a very private person. Little did anyone know that she had been fighting cancer on and off for nine years. She was diligent in her work and did not want to involve anyone in her personal struggles.

Though I have been aware of her struggle in this past year, I have watched her fight with courage and am deeply saddened by her passing. We have all been touched by Gudren in some way. Her tireless energy and work ethic has been an inspiration to us all. She wanted to be thought of for her work and service to others.

It was her wish not to have a memorial service nor did she want any flowers delivered. Her husband, Dr. Bob, advised that if you wish to make a donation in her name to the charity of your choice that would be wonderful.

When you close your eyes and think of Gudren, I’m sure many memories of her will return and a smile will come to your face. We will all miss her dearly. Our thoughts and prayers are with Dr. Bob.

Yours,
Robert Trent Jones Jr.
