Our Vision

At RTJ II, we listen to the land first, then we speak. Hidden within the topography of a great golf site is a cultural and historical legacy that transcends time and place, and which must be honored before a single stone is moved. It is then that our purpose unfolds: how to use nature’s gifts and our years of experience to create a course that will live in one’s memory long after being played. We don’t take on just any project, but will work with anyone who shares our vision: CEOs, heads of state, budget-minded municipalities, private developers, and world-class resorts.

THE LEGACY

The Robert Trent Jones name has been synonymous with golf course architecture since the late 1930s. Robert Trent Jones Sr. considered architecture an art form, not a science. “Follow the land,” he said famously, “don’t change the land.”  A century later that mantra still serves as the guiding light for the company that defined golf course architecture in the modern era.
