Robert Trent Jones II golf Design Firm Unveils Lübker Golf Resort

PALO ALTO, Calif., Sept. 23, 2008 — Robert Trent Jones II, the preeminent golf design firm worldwide, will help unveil Lübker Golf Resort, the first real estate golf course development project in Denmark, at grand ceremonies this week in Djurs, near Aarhus.

“Our work will help set new standards for golf courses in Denmark,” said Robert Trent Jones, Jr., Chairman of RTJ II. “We are delighted to participate as pioneers of this concept.”

Grand opening ceremonies will be held over four days beginning Thursday, Sept. 25.

Based on the overall strength of the community and the RTJ II golf design, developer Poul Anker Lübker was able to pre-sell 90 percent of the available real estate in an initial offering prior to the groundbreaking for the golf course. In addition, shares in the overall project were sold on the Danish Stock Exchange. Developers were able to secure 100 percent self-financing and guarantee membership for 1,800 golfers, making this an attractive investment for owners of homes and golf shares. In addition to the world-class golf course, the resort will be comprised of exclusive residences, a five-star hotel and conference facilities.

The RTJ II design team created three nine-hole loops (Sky, Forest and Sand) in a clover-shaped formation, which together form a 27-hole championship golf course. A nine-hole Academy Course also was constructed which will serve as the centerpiece of the Lübker Golf Academy facilities.

Bruce Charlton, RTJ II’s President and Chief Design Officer, who worked closely with owner Lübker in shaping his dream, explained, “The property itself has tremendous variety and character, complete with woodland areas, existing lakes and streams, and wonderfully folding and rolling topography with the added benefit of sandy soils.”

It’s been a typically busy season for the RTJ II design team as another course, Brightwater, is close to a full 18-hole unveiling. Located in Brightwater’s private, gated residential community in Colorado’s Vail Valley, the course beckons players to tee up for a game rich in Western ruggedness, enticing challenges and natural beauty. The front nine debuted over Labor Day weekend, while the back nine is to be unveiled at the end of this month.

Brightwater’s dynamic 18-hole, 72-par course is the fifth longest course in the country. Welcoming golfers of every age and ability, the course has six tee boxes with choices ranging from 8,005-yard professional tees to 5,690-yard forward tees to 2,700-yard family tees.

The fairways weave seamlessly around an original nineteenth century homestead barn, eight lakes, six natural springs, three streams and a one-mile stretch of Gypsum Creek. While the front nine boasts open, prairie-like terrain that often seduces golfers to opt for high-risk, high-reward shortcuts around dramatic features such as Temptation Lake, the back nine increases in complexity as the course climbs 320 feet in elevation to reach 7,060 feet at its peak. These holes present a different type of intrigue with sage-lined fairways and greens tucked up against sharply rising formations, and the final holes reward players with a sweeping view of the entire property and the surrounding mountains.

Brightwater, located seven miles from Eagle County Airport, the second busiest wintertime air terminal in Colorado, has direct flights to Dallas/Ft. Worth and Denver year round and direct flights to 18 major cities during high season.
