Wedgewood Golf & Country Club

Near Columbus in central Ohio’s Delaware County, Wedgewood Golf and Country Club offers 6,993 yards of private parkland championship golf in a pastoral setting. The course routes through hardwood forests, past creeks and lakes, and skirts pot bunkers and other hazards on the way toward immaculate bentgrass greens.

Our charge at Wedgewood was to create an exclusive private club set in a residential community where, except for several small islands of real estate, most of the homes would lie outside the golf course. Robert Trent Jones II let the natural flow of the rolling landscape dictate the layout. Once we decided upon a routing, we worked hard in the field to discover the best places for golf features. The result is a very natural course with playing corridors formed by beautiful stands of trees.

We were also highly conscious throughout the design process of the great classic golf courses by architects such as Donald Ross, Alister MacKenzie, A.W. Tillinghast, and Robert Trent Jones, Sr. located nearby. We designed Wedgewood with similarly classic features so that it might fit in with its well-crafted neighbors. The course looks exceptionally beautiful in the fall, when the trees change color and the fairways are nicely offset by the bluegrass/rye grass rough.

Wedgewood Golf & Country Club hosted the US Open Sectional Qualifier in both 2016 and 2022. The course offers world-class golf that can be enjoyed by all skill level golfers alike with amateur golfers loving the ability to challenge themselves like the professionals.
